Shrek The Musical Jr. was a very challenging show to do, as Cavalier Theatre had just acquired a brand new ETC Colorsource AV 40 lighting console 5 days before the show. Not only did I have to learn how to use the new lighting board, but I had to learn it well enough to teach the students that would be running the show. Luckily I had a great Tech Crew that spent the extra hours to learn how to program the board and setup cues. They were as excited as I was to be able to use the board for this show. We rented Lights from Castle Lighting to light up our backdrop and learned a lot about how flexible the new board was in selecting colors and programming effects. It was a great first experience for all involved.
